When it comes to YouTube Growth, 2020 and beyond… what’s it going to take to reach 100,000 YouTube subscribers? It’s a little scary to admit that that’s a goal because what if I don’t reach it?! But I am making a few tweaks to my YouTube growth strategy for 2020. Of course, the same old stuff applies… keywords, SEO, titles, description, tags (do they though??)… but I’ve reached a point where I realize “what got you here won’t get you there” so it’s time to shake things up!

It’s very easy for every content creator to say, “I would like to reach 100K subscribers this year!” but to be honest, failing to implement something and not taking actions to achieve that milestone means that you’re really just kind of crossing your fingers for something to happen, and it is not a strategy.
Big Goals for my Channel and Business This Year
One of the things I realized for this year is that I need to do more than what I did in the past in order for me to reach 100K subscribers. It’s kind of a “what got you here won’t get you there” type of situation, and like many other YouTube creators, I really want to get that silver play button milestone. In order for me to do that, I had to ask myself, “what is it going to take from me to go from 41K to 100K subscribers in 2020?”. With that, I was able to create this pretty simple plan for my YouTube growth 2020.
1. Increase the number of uploads on my channel
Recently, I was kind of like getting bored with tutorial videos, but in full honesty, creating how-to videos and tutorial videos are a very fantastic way to grow your audience because you get to answer the questions that people are asking. Also, I like teaching—especially when it is about how to edit videos, how to create videos, how to repurpose videos for various social media platforms, and so on.
When I got bored with it, I also have no idea what else to create. Which is why expect some more tutorial videos on my channel. In addition, if you have some particular questions, tutorial video ideas, or suggestions to help me reach my goal, feel free to drop them down on the comment section of my YouTube videos.
2. Outsource my video editing
Honestly, this is kind of terrifying for me. In the next month or so, I am going to train a virtual assistant to edit my YouTube videos. However, I don’t really know if I can do that because I enjoy editing my videos so much and it is like an art form for me. But like I said, what got me here won’t get me there. There are still many other things that I need to do to help my business grow than me editing videos.
I need to focus my time and energy on the things that will help my business grow like working one on one with coaching clients, launching digital programs, and working with group coaching programs. Also, my word for the year is “routine”. During the first year that I started my channel, it grew a ton because I had the discipline to stick to a routine, and that is what I like to focus again this year to reach my goal.
3. I have to be a student of my niche
I have been applying this practice for myself when I first started creating content, but I stopped doing it as time goes by. When I started, I really studied everything GoPro related and hammered it which filled the gap. But now, it’s kind of a different space, and I really need to study my niche and study what my audience wants from me. It includes studying the algorithm, analytics, and creating videos on the topic that my audience wants.
Those are some of my simple plans on how I will try to reach 100K subscribers this 2020. Again, if you have some more ideas on how I could improve my channel and my business, don’t hesitate to leave it in the comment section of my YouTube videos. It will be a big help to me.
