Recording Your Videos

Recording your videos has to be simple for you. Because it might be the hardest part of the whole process to actually get started. Make sure you are prepared and ready to hit the record button. If the process of getting to that record button is cumbersome for you because you’re using complicated software, then what are the chances that you’re going to stay consistent with recording your videos? My go-to for recording talking head videos is Ecamm Live, which is a Mac-only program. However, if you’re on a Windows machine, you can use OBS. You can also set up your camera anywhere you want and hit record. You can use any video editing software like Descript, Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro for editing your videos.

Editing Your Videos

Editing your videos can be a headache for people who are just trying to keep things simple. However, it doesn’t have to be. You can use Descript for simple, easy and intuitive editing of your videos. For more complicated editing such as adding animations, transitions, and sound effects, you can use Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro. I have a video editing process that I created for myself called the BFF (Basic, Fine-Tune, Fancy) method. I use this for every video that I make.

Selecting Topics for Your Talking Head Videos

It’s not good enough to just take the ideas and topics in your head that you want to create videos about and then figure out what the keywords are that you want to try to rank for. You need to figure out what people are searching for. Find out what people are watching, and create videos on those topics. YouTube has an internal research topic ideation function inside of your YouTube analytics. There are also tools like TubeBuddy and vidIQ that guide you through ideating your topics, so that your channel will actually attract subscribers.

The 3×4 Method

I want to show you how to find topics that will create the most opportunity for new viewers and subscribers to find and watch your videos. I do this using my 3×4 Method. This is a training that I created for my students inside of my 30 Days to a Thriving YouTube Channel program. Using this method, you can create several talking head videos in about the same amount of time it would normally take to create one. So the key is to create a library of binge-worthy videos. The 3×4 Method is like the express elevator to getting to where you actually do have a library of videos. Your channel is thriving, it’s booming and growing people are hitting the subscribe button because they’re finding your videos.

Conclusion

Creating simple talking head videos doesn’t have to be complicated and time-consuming. By following these tips and insights, you can create effective and engaging videos that will help you grow your channel. Remember to keep it simple, stay consistent, and select topics that people are searching for and watching. With a little bit of effort and dedication, you can create a library of binge-worthy videos that will help your channel thrive. So go ahead and hit record, and get started!
