What Works on YouTube NOW (2025) | Ep. 35
What strategies for growth work on YouTube? What’s in store for YouTube in 2025?
I recently did something a little different in my Video Brand Academy meetup. Instead of me sharing what’s working on YouTube, I asked the members: “What’s working for you?”
And wow, they did deliver!
We had such an amazing discussion filled with tips, challenges, and inspiring breakthroughs. I can’t wait to share some of the highlights with you all!

Leveraging AI for Content Creation
One member, who normally creates shorter videos, shared how they used ChatGPT to revamp an older, popular video. They fed their existing script into ChatGPT and asked it to generate a longer version with more detail. The result? A fresh, expanded video that resonated with their audience and significantly boosted their views! This is a fantastic example of how AI tools can be used to enhance creativity, not replace it.
My takeaway? Don’t be afraid to experiment with AI! It can help you breathe new life into your existing content or overcome creative blocks. Tools like ChatGPT can be powerful allies in your content creation journey.
Consistency is Key in YouTube strategies for growth
Another member highlighted the importance of consistency in their YouTube journey. By committing to a regular posting schedule, they noticed a significant increase in their comfort and confidence on camera. This is a common sentiment among creators – the more you show up, the easier it gets!
The same with another member also mentioned being consistent is getting her a return on investment, and it’s worth mentioning that she’s getting more comfortable in front of the camera. We also had a hilarious conversation about the “window of good hair and makeup” for filming. Ever felt like your filming session is a race against time before your hair falls flat or your makeup melts? Yep, we’ve all been there! One member’s solution? Do your hair and makeup every day so you’re always camera-ready! Now that’s dedication
One member mentioned Introducing herself to a wider audience has been an exciting journey. Connecting with new people who followed the brand, where I was a new face, has definitely contributed to growth. She also made a change to her live schedule. For about a year, she went live once a month, but this fall, she started doing weekly live streams. That shift has been a real boost! It’s helping her build a community where she can recognize and engage with people who regularly show up in the comments.
Overall, I think it’s been a really great move.

Finding the Right Tools and Resources
From teleprompters to thumbnail quad charts, the right tools can make a world of difference. One member raved about her Elgato teleprompter, while another shared uploading more frequently definitely was a win and how my thumbnail quad chart helped her create more effective thumbnails.
We also discussed some not-so-successful purchases (like expensive wall panels that could have been found for a fraction of the price elsewhere!). It’s a good reminder to always do your research and compare prices before making a big purchase.
My takeaway? Invest in tools that streamline your workflow and enhance your content. Don’t be afraid to experiment, but remember to shop around and compare prices before making a purchase.
Embracing Your Authentic Self
Adopting a “come with me” style in her videos works well for her. Instead of positioning yourself as a teacher or influencer, focus on creating content that feels collaborative and engaging. By shifting, she saw a significant increase in engagement and subscribers.
The audience appreciates when you take them along for the journey as an equal, sharing the process rather than presenting as a talking head giving instructions. Show the experiments you’ve tried, and invite viewers to experience them with you. This approach fosters connection and keeps your content relatable and enjoyable.
Another member spoke about the importance of creative freedom and collaborating with brands that align with their values. By embracing their own tagline and creating genuine content, they were able to attract exciting brand partnerships and reignite their passion for YouTube.
My takeaway? Authenticity is magnetic! Be yourself, create content that you’re passionate about, and the right opportunities will follow.

Experimenting with New YouTube Strategies for Growth
We also explored some unique strategies, like using a tool called Gyre to create continuous loop streams on YouTube. While this experiment had some initial hiccups (a looping fail!), it sparked a fascinating conversation about creative ways to engage viewers and increase watch time.
Even if you don’t see yourself as a naturally creative person, creating something like YouTube videos is still an act of creativity. What you share in your videos comes from within you; it’s not just random ideas pulled from thin air. It’s a part of who you are, and that’s what makes it meaningful. There needs to be freedom in how you approach every step of the process because if you’re not able to express yourself authentically, it’s no surprise that the experience starts to feel less enjoyable.
My takeaway? Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and try something new! You never know what you might discover.
Wrapping Up
This meetup was a fantastic reminder of the power of community and shared learning. By coming together and sharing our experiences, we can all grow and thrive on YouTube. I’m so grateful to all the members who contributed to this insightful discussion!
This is why I created Video Brand Academy, so that we can learn from each other, and I’m really excited about some of these tips.
Don’t forget to check Episode One, where I lay out my entire YouTube funnel system, which, to be honest, is better on video, if I do say so myself.
