Why Showing Up Consistently Creates Predictable Revenue
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that consistency is everything. Not the kind of consistency that means showing up every single day in a new outfit with perfect lighting, but consistency in the steady work that builds momentum.
For YouTube, consistency can simply look like:
- Posting once a week
- Posting twice a month
- Staying committed to your process
Your videos continue working for you long after you’ve published them. Someone who needs your expertise three months or three years from now can still discover your content, join your world, and eventually become a customer.
That long-term searchability is why YouTube is one of the most powerful platforms for course and membership sales. You’re building assets that continue to serve your ideal audience over and over again.

You Don’t Need the Full Plan Before You Start
For years, I felt stuck because I wanted the entire plan laid out before taking action. I wanted to know:
- Exactly how my content would attract the right audience
- Exactly how those viewers would convert
- Exactly how all the puzzle pieces fit together
But here’s what I discovered: you don’t see the full picture until you start building it.
It’s like working on a puzzle. The picture becomes clear piece by piece, not all at once. That realization helped me break free from overplanning and step into action.
Back in July 2013, I first had the idea that I should create content and build a business around it. But it wasn’t until January 2015, an entire year and a half later, that I finally hit publish on consistent content. Once I gained momentum, I promised myself I would stick with it for a full year, no matter what.
And once the results started coming in, I kept thinking: I should’ve started sooner.
Opportunities only show up when you’re already in motion.
Consistency Breeds Consistency
This is the foundation of everything I teach when it comes to building consistent sales. If you consistently show up with content, you create:
- Consistent growth
- Consistent visibility
- Consistent revenue
And one of the simplest ways I maintain this momentum is through something I call seeding my offers.
How I Naturally Seed My Offers in My Content
One of the simplest but most effective habits I use is seeding. Seeding is simply mentioning my programs, membership, or offers organically within my content.
For example, I might say:
“Someone inside Video Brand Academy asked this question…”
or
“We talked about this during our recent meetup inside Video Brand Academy…”
Just like that, viewers learn:
- I run Video Brand Academy
- We have live meetups
- People inside are working toward specific results
If someone watches me regularly, they hear the name of my program enough to remember it. If they’re brand new, they’re introduced right away.
This isn’t pushy. It’s not salesy. It’s simply giving context and letting viewers know what I offer. If people watch your content regularly but still can’t name your program, it usually means you’re not talking about it enough.
Seeding is a natural way to help your audience connect the dots between your free content and the deeper transformation you provide inside your paid programs.
My Approach to Consistent List Building
Email has been one of the most important parts of my business from day one. One advantage I had early on was knowing email marketing mattered. I started building my list from day one, and my very first freebie was something simple, an early version of a home-video guide.
It wasn’t fancy, but it helped people get a small win.
And that’s the key: What can you offer as a simple lead magnet that gets someone one step closer to what they want?
Once someone downloads your freebie, you can:
- Send them your new content
- Stay top-of-mind
- and eventually show them your offer
But here’s where it gets powerful…
I don’t email my list the moment I publish a new video. I let the algorithm work first. A few days later, then I send an email—often using the opening words of the video as the email hook.
AND…
I copy that email into my Evergreen sequence.
This means every video becomes:
- new content for your current list
- AND future content for new subscribers
This is where consistency compounds.
I recently checked my YouTube funnel numbers and discovered I made $47,000 without ad spend—and 92% of buyers clicked a link in my sales emails.
List building isn’t optional. It’s the engine.
YouTube brings people in, but email closes the sale.
Use YouTube as the Wide Top of Your Funnel
YouTube has 2.5 billion users. It is the widest top-of-funnel visibility platform on the planet.
Here’s how it works:
- Create content people are searching for
- Offer a free lead magnet
- Move viewers from YouTube → your email list
- Make an offer when the time is right
When your message is clear and strategic, your paid offer becomes a natural next step.
The Three YouTube Funnels I Use
Over time, I developed three frameworks anyone can apply depending on their offer:
1. The Backstage Funnel
Your YouTube channel becomes a showcase for your program. Instead of offering a typical cheat sheet, you invite viewers to a training or bonus session inside your program. It positions your offer as the natural next step.
2. The Binge-to-Buy Funnel
Perfect for low-ticket offers. You create binge-worthy videos that answer questions your audience is already searching for. Then you link to a time-saving digital product that helps them take action even faster.
3. The Gateway Funnel
This funnel focuses on list-building with a simple downloadable checklist or tool. Viewers watch your video, opt in, and are nurtured through your email sequence before seeing an offer.
With these funnels in place, your videos begin selling for you even while you’re sleeping. You’re simply showing up, creating value, and seeding your offers naturally.

The “Unlaunch” (My Favorite Low-Pressure Selling Method)
Every quarter or even every six weeks, I run something I call an unlaunch.
It’s simple and doesn’t involve the pressure of a big live event. I record a single video that sits at the top of a sales page, showing what’s inside my offer and who it’s for.
Because viewers already know what I sound like and what I teach from YouTube, the connection feels personal. It’s a natural way to invite the right people to join my program, never pushy.
Final Thoughts
If there’s one message I want you to leave with, it’s this:
Consistency creates clarity, it builds momentum, and it leads to consistent course sales with YouTube.
You don’t have to have everything figured out. You just need to start taking steady action.
I’m currently putting together a bonus bundle for Business by Design, James Wedmore’s program, ahead of his “The Rise of the Digital CEO” launch happening this week, and if you want to see what a well-produced live launch looks like, it’s a great opportunity (totally free). It includes my actual sales system and fill-in-the-blank sales emails, the same ones I use myself, plus sales page templates and the exact process I use to turn my YouTube channel into a consistent sales funnel, all as a gift for anyone who joins through my affiliate link.
If you want consistent, organic course or membership sales from YouTube without ads, ad spend, or stressful high-stakes launches, these bonuses (practical tools, not just more content) will really help and are only available for about four days. Make sure you’re on my waitlist via the link below so you don’t miss it and check your spam folder.
Your next level of consistency is waiting for you.
